Automate your content gathering workflow with Slack Agents.

Slack Agent is a listening agent where you can set a prompt that defines what kind of information to watch for in Slack. When triggered, the Slack Agent compiles the relevant content, writes it into a Smart Brevity formatted card, and adds it directly to the New Cards column in a series.

  • Customers on Premium, Advanced, and Premier packages can access this feature for free through March 31, 2026.
  • Users can only see cards created by Slack Agent in the Series Planner view.
  • Instructions on connecting your account to Slack can be found here

How do we set up the Slack Agent?

  • If your org already uses the Slack integration, you’ll need to click “Reinstall” on the Integrations page to create a Slack agent. Reinstalling the app will also allow you to manually send Slack messages to HQ.
  • If your org hasn’t set up Slack before, you can install it fresh from the Integrations page.
  • Additional instructions on installing the Slack integration can be found here

What does the Slack Agent do?

The Slack Agent automatically converts Slack messages into cards in the series planner. It you easily capture ideas, announcements, or feedback from daily chat activity and bring them into HQ for editing and publishing.

Who can create and manage Slack Agents?

Any user can create Slack Agents. Admins have broader permissions to manage and oversee all agents across the organization.

Admins can:

  • Edit or delete any agent created by anyone in the org.
  • Manage email intake access settings (restricting allowed domains) from the Settings → AI Agents page.
  • Reinstall or reconnect Slack integration.
  • Customize tone and writing rules via Settings → Customization.

Users can:

  • Create their own Slack Agent.
  • View Content Gathering Agents only if they’re part of the series associated with that agent

Who can use the agents once they're set up?

Once a Slack agent is toggled on, users that are collaborators in that series can view and modify the agent from the Agents page.

  • Users can view and apply Style & Tone Agents only if the creator has made them accessible to everyone in the org.
  • If the content gathering agent is toggled on, collaborators in that series can:
    • Send individual Slack messages or emails to HQ to create cards (subject to any domain restrictions for email intake)
    • View the card output generated by Slack Agents in their series.
  • Admins can edit and delete any agents.

Can I turn the Slack Agent off later?

Yes. For Slack Agent, series collaborators and admins can disable any agent at any time from the Agents page.

Can you have multiple Slack Agents set up for one series?

Yes, you can have multiple Slack Agents per series.

How does Axios HQ protect Slack data?

  • The Slack bot only operates in channels you explicitly add it to and requests the minimum read/write scopes required.
  • All messages are transmitted securely through Cloudflare into our AWS environment over TLS 1.2 and encrypted at rest.
  • Each customer’s data is isolated — never visible to other HQ customers — and is never shared externally or used to train AI models.

What happens if I delete a Slack Agent?

Deleting an agent removes its automation and stops it from creating or rewriting new content. Existing draft cards that were created or transformed by the agent will remain in your Series Planner and are not affected.

I’m in list view, why can’t I see new cards created by the Slack Agent?

Cards created by Slack Agent are only visible in the series planner view. To change your workspace to the series planner view, click on the rectangle icon located near the top right.
