Enhance your workflow with two-way Slack integration — capturing ideas and sharing updates seamlessly.

Axios HQ (14).png

Distribute updates from Axios HQ to Slack and bring important updates from Slack into HQ.

The Slack integration makes it easy to share HQ updates directly into team channels, ensuring everyone sees critical information where they already work. Emails sent from HQ can be instantly published via private or public links to any Slack channel to maximize visibility.

The integration also enables key insights from Slack to be captured in HQ. Using Send to HQ, messages from public channels, private channels, or DMs can be forwarded directly into HQ, where each submission automatically becomes a new card in the New Cards column of the series planner.

⭐ Slack integration requires an upgrade from the Essential Package.

  • If you are an Axios HQ Owner or Admin, navigate to Settings > Integrations, and click “Connect” on Slack.
  • It will redirect to a page where the user must allow Axios HQ access to their Slack workspace. At some orgs, the user will need to request admin approval from this page to continue.
  • Once connected, the user is redirected back to Integrations and should see Slack under their Connected Apps

3. Sharing to Slack

🛠️ How it works:

  • After sending an edition, you’ll have the option to "Share to Slack." There are three ways to do so:
    • Right after sending an edition.
    • Via the three-dot overflow menu on the Sent tab.
    • Via sent edition view, by clicking on "Share options."
  • A modal will open where users can select to share as Axios HQ or themselves and choose multiple public and private channels to share to.
  • Orgs that have not opted out of AI features can generate a Smart Brevitized summary of their edition by clicking “Generate summary” (this may take up to 20 seconds).
  • Users can edit the message that will be posted within the preview. Users can add an image to their post by selecting from any of the featured images in the edition.
  • Select "Share to Slack" to post the message as Axios HQ to the selected public and private channels. Readers can opt to read the full edition on the web by clicking ‘Click to read.’

  • Under Your integrations, hit "Connect your account."
  • Hit "Allow" to give Axios HQ permission to access your Slack workspace.
  • Once connected, your access will say "Can send messages as @yourself"

5. Restrict Slack sending from selected series

🛠️ How it works:

  • Owners and Admins can navigate to Settings > Integrations.
  • Click the gear icon to manage settings.
  • Switch the toggle on and select the series that can be shared to Slack.

❗Sharing from all series is on by default.

6. Sending Slack messages to HQ

🛠️ How it works:

  1. In Slack, find a message you want to send to HQ.
  2. Select the three-dot overflow menu to the right of the Slack message.
  3. Here you will see the option to “Send to HQ.” If you do not see it, click “More message shortcuts” and search for “Send to HQ.”
  4. Once you select “Send to HQ” a pop-up will appear. Select your organization name and series you would like to send your message to and hit “Send.”
  5. You will see a confirmation message in the Slack channel that is only visible to you. Allow some time for the card to be created. Once the card is created, you will receive another message with a link to your card.

Files can only be processed from Slack (to generate summary in card) and stored (accessible in source data) from public channels or private channels with the HQ bot.
