1. Choosing exact font sizes for your text
Font size controls are available on all plans.
🛠️ How it works:
- Select text in a card and use the − / + stepper in the toolbar to set an exact size.
- To set a default for every new card, go to Series Settings by clicking on the gear icon → Design on your series and adjust Default font sizes — Card headline, Header, Subheader, and Body — the same way.
2. Custom text, link, and background colors
Custom hex colors and custom edition/card backgrounds are available on Advanced and Premier plans. Other plans can still choose from Default, Primary, and Secondary swatches.
🛠️ How it works:
- Highlight text in any card and click the text color icon in the toolbar.
- Pick Default, Primary, or Secondary, or click Custom to enter any hex code.
- Use the color wheel that appears when you click into the hex field to fine-tune your color visually.

- Go to Series Settings by clicking the gear icon, then click Design.
- Under Color, click any swatch — Primary, Secondary, Background, Card background, Text, or Link — to open the picker.
- Enter a hex code or use the color wheel, view a preview of your color choices on the example on the right hand side.
- Save your changes.
3. Wrapping text around images
Image text wrap is available on all plans.
🛠️ How it works:
- Insert an image into a card using the image icon in the toolbar.
- Click the image to select it — a small toolbar appears above it.
- Choose "Wrap text left of image" or "Wrap text right of image" to let your text flow around it, or keep it full width with Align left or Align center.
4. Flexible column layouts
Flexible column layouts are available on Advanced and Premier plans. Basic 1:1 columns remain available on all plans.
🛠️ How it works:
- Click the columns icon in the toolbar.
- Choose a layout — 2 columns, 3 columns, or an uneven split (2:1 or 1:2).
- Click "Column settings" on an inserted column to turn "Stack columns on mobile" on or off. When it's on, columns display one below the other on small screens; when it's off, they stay side by side.
5. Card spacing and dividers
Card spacing and divider controls are available on Advanced and Premier plans.
🛠️ How it works:
- Go to Series Settings by clicking the gear icon, then click Design.
- Under Layout, choose between the boxed card style (with a Small, Default, or Large Padding size) or the flush style.
- On the flush style, check "Include divider between cards" to add a line between cards, then set its color and thickness.
- If you select flush style, your draft in the editor will still appear as separate cards but it will appear in the flush style in your test sends and real sends.
Card spacing and divider controls can only be applied at the series level.
6. Setting series and org-wide design defaults
Series-level color, org-wide color, and font-size defaults are available on Advanced and Premier plans. Org-wide font defaults are Premier only.
🛠️ How it works: org-wide defaults
- To set defaults for every series in your org, go to org-level Settings, then Customization.
- Click "Save defaults" to apply your choices to new series only, or "Save and override" to also update every existing series.

- Go to Series Settings by clicking the gear icon, then click Design, to set colors, fonts, and font sizes for that series only.
- Save your changes.
7. Saved colors
Saved colors is available on Premier.
🛠️ How it works:
- Go to org-level Settings, then Customization, and find the Saved colors section.
- Owners and admins can name a color (for example, "HQ Blue" or "HQ AI Purple") and save it for the whole org.
- Saved colors then appear as a titled "Saved colors" group in every color picker, so anyone writing an edition can pick the brand color by name instead of hunting down a hex code.
Managing the saved color list is limited to org owners and admins; everyone else in the org can select saved colors normally. Editing or deleting a saved color does not change past editions that already used it.

What's new in Expanded Design Elements?
You can now pick from more font sizes, use any hex color for text, links, edition backgrounds, and card backgrounds, wrap text around images, build flexible column layouts, and control the spacing or add a divider between cards.
Do these settings apply to editions I've already sent?
No — design settings apply to new editions going forward. Sent editions keep the styling they had when they were sent.
Can I still use the classic three-color palette?
Yes. Your existing Primary, Secondary, and Background colors still work exactly as before — custom hex colors are an additional option, not a replacement.
