Series Planner is a kanban-style view for managing content across a series. Designed to improve visibility and streamline workflows, this view brings a more intuitive way to organize cards and editions within HQ.
- Each card represents a single piece of content that can be created and stored outside of an edition.

1. Scratchpad/New cards column
This column is dedicated to creating cards outside of an edition. You can use this column to draft cards that do not belong to a specific edition yet. Once you decide which edition you would like the card to be part of, simply drag it over to the edition’s column.
🛠️ How it works:
- Select “Add card” at the bottom of the column.
- On the right side, a card editor panel will open.
- Add a headline, image, and card content.
- Highlight text to expose the floating toolbar that gives you access to text formatting options.
- Once you have identified which edition the card will be included in, drag and drop the card into the edition.
2. Edition columns
🛠️ How it works:
- Every column to the right of the “New cards column” represents a draft edition.
- Editions are sorted by their scheduled and target send dates, followed by drafts with no dates attached.
- To open the full editor for an edition draft, click the subject line at the top of the column.
- Click on a card within a column to delete, duplicate, or open the card editor panel for quick edits.
- Set a target date at the top of an edition’s column.
- Click the 3 vertical dots to access the overflow menu which allows you to duplicate, schedule, create a template or delete an edition.
- Move cards by dragging and dropping them into different columns.
3. Autodraft
Quickly upload a document to generate a Smart Brevity card for your edition.
🛠️ How it works:
- Navigate to the bottom of your edition column and click the downward arrow next to "Add card."
- Select "Upload to generate card."
- Upload your document, which can be in Word or PDF format, ensuring it does not exceed 10MB.
- Give it some time to generate.✨
- Once completed, the generated card will open in the card editor on the right.
4. Default Template
Default templates allow you and your team to create cohesive communications with placeholders and recurring themes.
Adding cards
🛠️ How it works:
- Navigate to the “Template” button in the Series planner view.
- Click on the “Add card” dropdown arrow.
- Select what type of card you want to add to your default template for this series.
- You have the option to add a card from the card library, upload a document to generate a card, add a blank card, or an outro card.
- Go back to the Series planner view by clicking the “Back” button.
- Create a new edition in the Series planner edition column.
Adding Placeholders
Utilize placeholders to manage recurring content in your editions, guaranteeing no vital topics or moments are overlooked. Invisible within the Editor, these placeholders function within the Series Planner, serving as reminders for essential elements in your communication strategy. They facilitate structured planning and content consistency.

- Navigate to the “Template” button in the Series planner view.
- Select “Add placeholder” then edit the placeholder title.
- Go back to the Series planner view by clicking the “Back” button.
- Create a new edition in the series planner edition column.
- Select your default template that includes the placeholders from the dropdown menu.
5. Card editor capabilities
The card editor view allows you to:
Modify the title and byline of intro cards and format text.
Add links, polls, buttons, images, emojis, and axioms.
Move text and images around within the card.
Smart Brevify, adjust length, adjust tone, and translate.
🛠️ How it works:
Highlight text to expose the floating toolbar.
Click the plus icon on the left of a text or empty block to expose additional editor features, like polls and buttons.
Hover over the left side of a block to expose the six grip dots. Drag from the grip dots to move content up or down.
Utilize AI editing tools by clicking on the sparkle icon on the right side of the card. Here you have the options to Smart Brevify, adjust length, adjust tone, and translate.
6. Card library
Adding a previously sent card or a single card template to your edition
🛠️ How it works:
- In the series planner view, click on the dropdown arrow next to the “Add card” button at the bottom of the edition column.
- Select “Add from card library” from the dropdown menu.

Search from previously sent cards or single card templates from our Template library with key words.
- You can filter sent cards from different series and sort by last sent or first sent.
- Click “Add card” to add the selected card to your edition.
- The card will populate in your edition. Click and drag the card to reorder it how you’d like.

Who can use this feature?
Series Planner is available to all users!
Is the Series Planner view available for One-offs?
Yes, but with some limitations. In the Kanban view, you will only be able to view editions that they have created. In the table view, you will be able to view other editions they have access to.
Can I revert back to the previous draft view?
Yes, you can switch to the table view at any time. Navigate to the different view buttons in the top right.
Will the editor show the version history of a card if the edits were made in the Series Planner view?
Yes, changes made from the single card editor in the Series Planner view will appear in your version history.
