An overview to share with your IT teams if you are thinking about implementing integrations.
Not sure who on your IT team to reach out to? The information below gives directions to get users in touch with the right people at their organization, as well as provides some top-level guidance to the technical team that will be looped in.
Once you are ready to get started with the integration setup, add your IT contacts as users to the platform. We recommend bringing them in as Admins, so that they have the correct privileges to test and confirm your integrations. You can always readjust and/or downgrade these permissions later as you see fit.
Custom Domain
By default, all series sent through Axios HQ come from our email address, noreply@axioshq.com. Setting up a custom domain allows you to decide what email address your series will send from. This makes your messaging friendlier, lets you stay on-brand, and gives your audience confidence that your communications are coming from you!
💻 Tech connect: in order to set up a custom domain you should reach out to the folks in charge of:
- Your domain (DNS) configuration.
We’ll ask you to add two TXT (SPF + DKIM), two MX, and a CNAME record under a subdomain to your public DNS records.
Allowlisting
Spam filters are sensitive and particular, but there are a few basic steps that we recommend you and your IT team take before your first send from Axios HQ to help ensure your edition lands in your audience’s inboxes!
💻 Tech connect: the person who configures allowlisting should be whoever handles:
- Email setup
- Spam / Firewall filters and quarantine
We’ll ask you to make a few adjustments, including whitelisting our IP addresses and safe-sendering our sending domains.
Directory, HRIS or CRM Sync
Setting up an integration with the system you are keeping up to date with your audience records allows you to bring your recipient data directly into HQ. As your email lists change, you won’t have to worry about updating your audience to match in Axios HQ, because everything will be automatic!
💻 Tech connect: the person who configures your audience management sync should be somebody who handles:
- Updating your directory, e.g. Azure/Entra, Google, Okta, etc.
- Managing your data in your HRIS system, e.g. Workday, UKG, BambooHR, etc.
- Configuring your Hubspot or Salesforce instance
- Keeping your source of truth up to date and is able to set up an SFTP/SCIM connection
SSO
Single sign-on (SSO) is an authentication that allows a user — someone who will write, edit, or send your series — to log in with just their email address and the click of a button. No password necessary! Implementing this method allows for an easy sign on for employees with particular credentials, and provides security when off-boarding those you no longer wish to have access.
💻 Tech connect: setting up an SSO connection will require somebody to get involved who:
- Is in charge of your organizations IdP, or Identity Provider.
