Build Recipient Segments from attributes

Axios HQ offers you a few different ways to create recipient segments:
- bring in your existing recipient groups with a directory integration,
- Upload a CSV file with assigned segments,
- or utilize attribute filters to create recipient groups directly in HQ.
Table of contents:
1. Import Attributes
🛠️ How it works:
- Navigate to Audience > All recipients, then select “Add recipients”
- Select to download a template CSV with the available attributes or upload a CSV with attributes in additional columns.
- Yes, but: Orgs with in-house Azure that have opted in for attributes to sync will not have to complete Step 1.
💡 Only Owners, Admins and Members with permission can access the org-level Audience page, including the All recipients page.
2. Build from a filter
🛠️ How it works:
- On the All recipients page, select “Create a segment” and the “Build from filter” option.
- The “Filter” panel will open on this page, and you can choose the attributes to filter on.
- When you’re done building the filters, you can name and save the segment at the bottom of the panel.
3. View Filtered Segments
🛠️ How it works:
- Navigate to Audience > Segments, then search for your Filtered Segment.
- This Filtered Segment is considered "Active," meaning it will automatically refresh and update as new data becomes available.
- For customers who have an Azure Application Registration connected, the nightly sync will bring in new data and refresh your segments.
- For customers without an Azure connection, new data is provided through additional CSV uploads.
- Individual recipients cannot be manually removed from a Filtered Segment. Recipients will update when new data becomes available.
4. Pull Filtered Segments into a Series
🛠️ How it works:
- Navigate to your Series, select the Megaphone icon in the top right corner of your Series page, then click "Manage recipients" and select "Import segments."
- Search for the name of the Filtered Segment or sort the Source column by “Active Segments.”
- Any changes to a Filtered Segment will also impact the Series Audience.
